CUWRFC Defeats Yale 33-15

‘Twas a dark and rainy afternoon on Sunday, October 6th, when CUWRFC traveled to the far away land of New Haven, Connecticut, to take on the Yale Women’s rugby team. CU had a good start with a try by Kira Ullman (CC ’15) and conversion by Amanda Leng-Smith (CC ’15), to put Columbia up by 7-0. Yale answered with a try of their own, and no conversion, but CU fought back with tries by Savannah Woods (CC ’14), Ullman (again), Alex Pan (SEAS ’16) and Trinidad Reyes (CC ’15). Although Yale scored two more times before the final whistle, CU’s determination, good looks, good cheer, resistance to cold and mud, and work as a cohesive unit put them on top with a final score of 33-15.
